Career Counseling Services
In today’s world every person’s career journey follows a different path. This path is guided by an individual’s past experiences and also by decisions that were made through out their life. The Career Counselor at WITC will work to guide you down the path that will lead to the program that is most appropriate for you. The counselors will discuss with you your past employment, education, personal experiences, interests and anything else that will help you make a career choice. Other career planning opportunities available are career assessment, shadowing classes and attending career nights and other campus events.
To learn more about these services dial 1-800-243-WITC, choose the campus you would like to attend and ask for counseling services.
Career Exploration
A prospective student can contact the Admissions Advisor on each campus to discuss career options, receive program information and to schedule a campus tour. Each semester there are a variety of opportunities to visit the campus and look at programs that are offered. A prospective student can also schedule to visit a specific program and meet with the instructor to gather more information and decide if the program is for them.
Career Assessment
Individuals who have considered their choices and who are uncertain what path to take may want to complete a career assessment. Career assessments give general information about interests, strengths and weaknesses to consider in making educational plans.
For a general survey of careers please visit www.careerclusters.org/ccinterestsurvey.php, to access and complete the ‘Free Career Clusters Survey Activity’. After completing the survey, you may compare your results with the programs available at WITC. You may contact your local campus for further discussion of your survey with a counselor or for other assessment options. You may also contact the admissions advisor for specific program information and exploration.
