WITC-Ashland Campus

WITC-Ashland, situated on the shores of Lake Superior in a progressive community of almost 9,000 residents, is known for its commitment to academic excellence and personalized instruction.

Having served the community in Northwestern Wisconsin since 1920, WITC-Ashland has seen much change. In the 1940s the former Ashland Post Office was renovated for the school. In 1968, construction began at the college's current site on Beaser Avenue. Work on the building was completed in 1970. The campus saw a continued increase in student enrollment and program offerings. This growth resulted in building expansions in 1976 and 1980. A fourth building project to accommodate major campus renovations and the development of a conference center was dedicated in 1988. Construction continued in 2000 for the development of a Technology Center. This facility, which was added onto the Learning Resource Center, complements all resources and services of technology to the students, staff, business and industry, and the general public. It also provides a new location for the expanded Computer Network Technician program.

Encompassing more than 74,000 square feet, the facility now houses programs in business, child care, emergency medical, fire training, health, and trade and technical learning. Approximately 4,400 students are served yearly in degree and diploma programs, continuing education courses, and customized training for business, industry and governmental agencies.

The Ashland campus is near some of Wisconsin's most breathtaking scenery. Pine forests give way to rocky cliffs that descend to the clean beaches of the largest Great Lake. The campus is centrally located to many area recreational attractions including the 22 islands of the Apostle Islands National Park, thousands of acres of the Chequamegon National Forest, countless pristine inland lakes, and miles of rivers and streams. Ashland is a recreational playground for hunters, anglers, boaters, skiers, snowmobilers, hikers, and anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
