Biography

Sue Guenard approaches teaching everyday as a “learner.” Her philosophy of teaching has always been to never stop learning, and teaching seems to provide Guenard with the constant intellectual feedback she needs to stay engaged and be successful. Guenard’s desire to learn is proven by her educational track record. Currently working toward a Doctor of Education from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn., Guenard values education and wants to help others be successful in attaining their education goals.

In addition to her educational training, Guenard has several years experience working in the human resource management and supervisory management fields. She was a human resource specialist, a human resource director and a collaborative director for an early childhood initiative grant through the state of Michigan. Guenard also spent 15 plus years in the field of education, teaching in a K–12 setting. This combination of education/teaching background provides Guenard with the strong foundation needed to understand the practices and concepts in both of her WITC programs.

Guenard values different perspectives and believes that teaching and learning is most impactful and meaningful when connected to personal experiences.

In her spare time, Guenard likes to spend time with family and friends. They enjoy camping, game nights, attending sporting events, dinners, movies, cookouts, sledding, skiing and any other excuse they can think of to get together to eat, laugh and enjoy each other’s company.
