Amanda Abrahamson is a health information technology and
medical coding specialist instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College's
New Richmond campus.
She has worked for a large acute care hospital and also for a
smaller community hospital. Amanda has worked very closely in the areas of
health information management, document imaging, coding, release of information,
chart completion, transcription, electronic health record systems and privacy
and security. She is excited to put these experiences and information together
for the HIT/MCS programs while passing along the knowledge to help others be
prepared and successful in the field.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family,
playing with her kids and reading.
"Teaching is a new opportunity for me. I'm excited for the
transition, because I am looking forward to working with and guiding students
into becoming HIT professionals who are confident and ready to take on a
challenge." - Amanda Abrahamson
