With over 25 years of experience in the early childhood education industry, Andrea Wondra provides a valuable perspective of the industry. Wondra’s experience ranges from family child care provider, owner/director/lead teacher of a group childcare center, four-year-old kindergarten teacher and previous instructor experience at WITC of a 40-hour course.
Wondra stresses the importance of early childhood education, stating, “What children learn in the most formative, early years will influence them for the rest of their lives.” She believes that teaching has a ripple effect, and the early childhood education program at WITC is a model of excellence with innovative and practical opportunities for learning.
Wondra looks forward to witnessing the transformation from students into “the teachers of tomorrow.” To facilitate this transformation, Wondra strives to create a community of learners in the classroom where everyone learns from and supports one another. She utilizes planned discovery, where students construct their own learning through planned, relevant activities.
In her spare time, Wondra loves to spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoys music, the outdoors, sewing and making soup.
"I love to see concepts learned in early childhood education courses positively transferred into the classrooms and then out into the homes of young children." -- Andrea Wondra"
