General Studies Instructor

Dan Cooper is a General Studies Instructor teaching economics and diversity studies classes at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College's Rice Lake campus.
Before joining WITC, Dan was a truck driver for 16 years, and earned his degree during that time. He has also worked in technical training at Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison, Wis., as a carpenter in the Cable, Wis., area, and has occasionally driven truck during his summer breaks. Dan's wide employment background enables him to empathize with WITC's students who work, study and have a family and full-time lives.
For two summers Dan, along with his wife and son, lived on the Apostle Islands as volunteer rangers with the National Park Service. In 1997 they lived on Stockton Island and in 1999 lived on Oak Island.
In his free time, Dan enjoys playing guitar, photography, spending time with family, reading and writing. He has three books in progress and no intentions to publish them anytime in the near future.
"To teach is to touch a life forever. I have been very fortunate in being granted that rare privilege."
