2012 WITC Board of Trustees Application/Affidavit and Instructions for Wisconsin Technical College System District Board Membership

Please Note: In accordance with the Plan of Representation, we unable to accept applications from Region 5 (Barron County) since no region may have more than two members on the Board (WITC currently has two members from Region 5 on the Board).

Important Dates:
Notarized applications are due no later than 4 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Candidates must live in the WITC District, must submit and complete a notarized application/affidavit by deadline date/time, be present and be interviewed at the Board Appointment public hearing/meeting on Thursday, March 29, 2012, beginning at 2:30 p.m., at the WITC-Administrative Office in Shell Lake, and submit at least two letters of recommendation supporting his/her candidacy before interviewing.
 
Application/Affidavit and Instructions
Wisconsin Statutes have established a series of specific requirements relating to district board appointments. These instructions are intended to help you understand those requirements as they will affect your application for membership on a district board.

Please review the instructions (Link) Form requires pdf to view prior to completing the Application/Affidavit (Link). When submitting your name for candidacy, it is necessary to return only your completed Application/Affidavit to the district board appointment committee. You may retain the instructions.

There are four important requirements, listed below, that all candidates must meet in order to be eligible for WTC district board membership:

  1. Be residents of the Wisconsin Technical College (WTC) District (Link) Form requires pdf to view in which they are applying for board membership.

  2. Submit a notarized and completed Application/Affidavit (Link) Form requires pdf to view to the district board appointment committee chairperson within 14 days of the publication of an announcement requesting applications (see application date requirement noted above).

  3. Attend a district board appointment committee public hearing in person and be interviewed (see hearing/meeting date noted above).
     
  4. Have at least two letters of recommendation submitted supporting applicant's candidacy before interviewing.

 Each district board has 9 members:

  • 3 additional members
  • 2 employers
  • 2 employees
  • 1 school district administrator
  • 1 elected official
