Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is governed by a 9-member District Board appointed by County Board Chairs from the following 11 counties within the WITC District (Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Polk, Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn; and portions of Iron and St. Croix). In accordance with Wisconsin Statutes, the District Board consists of two employer members, two employee members, three additional members, one elected official member who holds a state or local office, and one school district administrator. Board members serve staggered 3-year terms and are not paid except for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

The Board Appointment Committee is currently seeking applicants for the following three (3) WITC District board member positions, to begin on or about July 1, 2012, with 3-year terms ending June 30, 2015:

1) School District Administrator Member*: Representing the WITC District
*Please Note: In accordance with the Plan of Representation we are not able to accept applications from
Region 5 (Barron County) since no region may have more than two members on the Board and WITC
currently has two members from Region 5 on the Board.

2) Employee Member: Representing Region 1 - Douglas County

 3) Employer Member: Representing Region 6 - St. Croix County

The appointments will be made in accordance with the Plan of Representation (Link), which specifies categories of membership as well as geographic areas of representation within the district. Equal consideration is given to the general population distribution within the WITC District, as well as to the distribution of women and minorities.

No two members of the WITC District Board may be officials of the same governmental unit, nor may any district board member be a member of the school board that employs the school district administrator member.
