WITC Board of Trustees Responsibilities

Real College.  Real World.  Real You.

Each technical college district determines its own board member responsibilities. Generally, the duties of district board members are to:

• Provide governance for the college
• Attend monthly Board meetings
• Represent the College at state and national meetings
• Be involved in the life of the College
• Evaluate the President
• Perform other duties

Many opportunities exist for greater professional development. Attending quarterly meetings of the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association can broaden a Board member's understanding of the technical college system in order to see the "big picture." In addition, attendance at conferences of the Association of Community College Trustees will give Board members a national perspective.
