(2/16/12): Wisconsin State Sen. Sheila Harsdorf recently visited the New Richmond campus of Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College to award the college a legislative citation recognizing February 2012 as Career and Technical Education Month.

Career and technical education (CTE) provides multiple pathways for students to become college and career ready, even while still in high school. Strong partnerships between and among PK-12 schools, local businesses, and technical colleges are often an important component of CTE.

Harsdorf reiterated portions of the citation, including, “Career and technical education at WITC provides students with a school-to-career connection and is the backbone of a strong, well-educated workforce, which fosters productivity in business and industry and contributes to America’s leadership in the global marketplace.”

She and state Reps. Dean Knudson, John Murtha and Erik Severson, and the members of the Wisconsin State Legislature commend WITC for the “work and services they provide through their programs to support and enhance individual work skills, productivity and career choices.”
