The Dementia Care technical certificate is ideal for caregivers and practitioners who work directly with older adults in healthcare and clinical settings, community-based programs, residential facilities, and private or for profit business and industry. Learners will gain relevant and emerging information related to dementia types, symptoms and progression. Students will be provided with practical tools and strategies that promote effective communication, honor human dignity, and support the importance of advanced planning, Certificate coursework and experiences will examine ways for students to positively affect their communities through advocacy, education and other cutting edge initiatives.
