Advanced Standing
Advanced standing recognizes skills students attained in
certain high school courses. Advanced standing agreements are developed between
WITC and a high school when a high school course or courses contain competencies
that are recognized as equivalent to those in a technical college course. If an
advanced standing agreement was in effect at the time you attended high school
and if you meet the conditions identified in the agreement, you may be granted
technical college credit after enrolling at the college. It is your
responsibility to initiate the advanced standing process by presenting
documentation related to the advanced standing course(s). Please contact a WITC
counselor if you have questions regarding advanced standing.
