Interlibrary Loans

If you are a WITC student, staff or faculty member and you need an item not owned by WITC, you may request materials through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). District residents are to request Interlibrary Loan through their public library system.

The Learning Resource Centers at WITC participate in sharing resources and materials with Wisconsin libraries. The requests can include books, photocopies of journal or newspaper articles, videos, and other circulating materials.*

Please allow 10-15 days for us to obtain the materials. Delivery time varies depending on the availability of the materials and the location of the lending library. The requester will be notified by the LRC Staff when the item arrives. All users should pick up and return ILL materials to the Circulation Desk in a timely manner. Materials have various loan periods; please note that the due date is always indicated on Interlibrary Loan items. Respect that return date. Loan periods, renewals, and any restrictions are determined by the lending library.

*It is not always possible to obtain items through ILL. Non-circulating items such as reference materials, some media types, or others may not be available for use outside their library.

To request an item:

  1. Fill out the form as completely and correctly as possible, noting if there is a specific time when the item will no longer be of use to you or other special conditions.
  2. Submit the form to your Campus LRC Staff.
  3. Return the item to the LRC by the due date.
