Articulation agreement reached for new program at WITC

(6/17/10): Credits from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical
College’s new Human Services Associate program will now be applied toward a
bachelor’s degree in social work through an exclusive partnership with The
College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.
This articulation agreement would benefit students who
graduate from the Human Services Associate program at WITC and choose to build
on their associate degree by pursuing a Social Work bachelor’s degree at CSS.
“We
are very excited to provide this opportunity for students completing the Human
Services Associate program to continue their education,” said Cindy King,
director of curriculum at WITC.
WITC’s Human Services Associate degree program provides graduates with the
professional and ethical standards, knowledge and skills needed to work
effectively within the Human Services field in areas such as counseling,
outreach and community services, child and family services, substance abuse and
elder services.
WITC Divisional Dean, Family and Consumer Services, Laura
Wassenaar explains, “Students benefit from having an array of educational
pathways to pursue, based on their personal and professional goals. This
high-quality, cost-effective partnership provides yet one more potential route
for students to take.”
