WITC to offer free career seminars

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is offering free Career Seminars on
the first Tuesday of every month at
WITC-Ashland and the second
Tuesday of every month at
WITC-Superior. WITC-New
Richmond will host the event on the third Tuesday of the month and WITC-Rice Lake will be the
host site on the
fourth Tuesday of the month.
Time for the seminars at all locations is from 4 - 6 p.m. Preregistration is required by calling 800.243.9482.
Career Seminars are designed to assist individuals in selecting the most
appropriate career and or educational options available.
The Career Seminar consists of self-evaluation, personality
assessments, career clusters interest inventory, labor market trends,
employability skills, goal setting and career decision making. Upon completion
of the seminar, individuals will have gained additional tools to use when
considering career options.
Those who are considering choices for a first career,
thinking about changing careers, or want to get ahead in a present career, will
find the resources to navigate through the process.
For those unable to attend these seminars, WITC offers
a free online career
assessment. The 10-minute questionnaire identifies which career
areas might be the best fit.
It is also possible to schedule a visit with a counselor at
a WITC campus. Individuals will be given the opportunity to complete the Myers
Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory for a minimal fee. The
counselors will discuss the results of the assessments, past employment,
education, personal experiences, and interests to assist in making a career
choice.
