WITC President nominated for MEP Lifetime Achievement Award

(6/2/10): WITC President Bob Meyer was recently nominated
for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award recognizes outstanding advocates of U.S. manufacturing who have
demonstrated an overwhelming commitment to the business growth and
transformation of U.S.-based manufacturing through their continued support of
U.S. Manufacturing.
Prior to his appointment as president of WITC, Dr. Meyer
was the Dean of the College of Technology, Engineering and Management (CTEM) at
the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Through Meyer’s tenure as Dean, he also was
the Director of the Stout Technology Transfer Institute and the NWMOC.
Meyer is well respected not only in University and
Technical college arenas, but also in the world of manufacturing, workforce
development, and economic development in the State of Wisconsin. Meyer’s
leadership and strategic planning made him an integral factor in the
"Polytechnic" designation for UW-Stout.
Meyer has also served in many local and area Economic
Development entities as a resource for manufacturing, workforce training, and
lean implementation programs. Meyer is well known and respected by our regional
and state SMEs. Meyer’s strength is building relationships, and the NWMOC was
awarded the 2001 Champion-Partnership award by the Modernization Forum.
