WITC-New Richmond business students compete statewide

(3/21/11): The Business Professionals of America – New Richmond Chapter recently traveled to Rice Lake to compete against other Wisconsin Technical Colleges in leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. Faculty advisor for the WITC-New Richmond chapter is Linda Richie.

Those who placed at the state competition include:

Selena Buerkle – Payroll Accounting (1st place), Federal Income Tax Accounting (2nd place) and Managerial Accounting (5th place)

Tracy Geving – Payroll Accounting (5th place)

Lowell Setterlund – Parliamentary Procedure (2nd place)

Patricia Roettger – Extemporaneous Speech (5th place), Administrative Support Team (5th place), Keyboarding Production ( 2nd place) and Advanced Office Systems (3rd place)

Amanda Kuske – Keyboarding Production (5th place) and Medical Transcription (3rd place)

Stephanie Formo – Desktop Publishing (2nd place) and Advance Word Processing Skills (3rd place)

Gayleen Farrier - Extemporaneous Speech (2nd place), Administrative Support Team (5th place), Medical Office Procedures (5th place), Administrative Support Concepts (5th place) and Management/Marketing/Human Resource Concepts (3rd place)

Jenny Hojem – Administrative Support Team (5th place)

Terri Rydeen – Administrative Support Concepts (3rd place) and Interview Skills (2nd place)

Several of these students are now fundraising so they may continue on to the National Competition in Washington, D.C. this spring.
