Love Lights donations grow

(12/8/11):The 21st annual Love Lights was a glowing success. Sponsored
by the WITC-Ashland Alumni Association, Love Lights helps to raise scholarship
funds for Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College students. The event honored
close to 400 individuals and raised more than $2,280, an increase of more than
$300 compared to last year.
“During each of its 21 years, Love Lights has grown,” said
Robyn Lulich, college advancement associate. “For some families, Love Lights has
become part of their holiday traditions. It’s a great way to honor a loved one
and support a worthy cause."
For the last 21 years, the WITC-Ashland Alumni Association
has sponsored Love Lights, an event that raised funds for scholarships while
honoring loved ones. Lights are sold to honor those who are deceased, living or
serving in the military. The Love Lights tree remains lit outside the Ashland
Campus throughout the holiday season.
Those who braved the cold at the December 7 ceremony honored
their loved ones through the reading of their names. Attendees were also treated
to a performance by the Accidentals Choral Group and enjoyed holiday
refreshments.
