WITC named one of top two-year colleges

Bankrate has named WITC one of its top two-year public colleges in the U.S..

(10/3/13): On the heels of being designated by Washington Monthly as the fourth best two-Year college in the country, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College has again received national ranking. Bankrate has named WITC one of its top two-year public colleges in the U.S.

"Iím extremely pleased that has recognized WITC as one of the most affordable of all college options in the nation," said WITC President Bob Meyer. "Only about a month ago, Washington Monthly Magazine ranked WITC the fourth best two-year college in the nation with respect to student engagement and the quality of WITCís programs. Our motto is 'learning first' and these two rankings confirm that WITC is focused on both the quality and the cost of the studentís experience.  Iím incredibly proud of our staff and college leaders that continue to aspire for excellence in serving our students."

According to the study, Bankrate ranked more than 900 two-year public colleges using six criteria: graduation rate; student retention rate; student-faculty ratio; in-state tuition and fees; percentage of full-time, first time undergrads getting financial aid; and the average amount of aid they received from various sources. The data reflects full-time, first-time degree- or certificate-seeking students who entered college in fall 2008.

WITC, ranked 17th, received high marks for retention rate, the percentage of undergrads receiving financial aid, and the average amount of grant aid received.

"The and the Washington Monthly Magazine rankings provide great information to prospective students as they consider their options in becoming career-ready,Ē said Meyer.
