Incompletes

A grade of incomplete will be issued only in extreme cases where the student is unable to complete the course work in the scheduled timeframe because of circumstances beyond their control. The student must have completed a significant portion of the course work and must notify the instructor immediately after becoming aware of their situation and prior to the submission of final grades.

When requesting an incomplete, the student must submit to the instructor, in writing, the reasons for the request and the conditions necessary to satisfy the incomplete.  This should include a list of coursework (agreed upon by the instructor) to be completed as well as an intended completion date that cannot be later than six weeks past the end of the current semester.

Course Format and Due Dates

This course is delivered in a fairly self-paced, flexible format.  However, it is important to understand that regularly scheduled time spent working on the course will produce the best learning.  Also be aware that students who attempt to submit a great majority of their coursework in the last month of the semester will not pass the course!  To avoid a negative outcome, be sure to consult the syllabus immediately at the beginning of the semester, paying special attention to the "course format and due dates" section which outlines specific due dates and rules on homework/test submission.

Students having problems of any kind are responsible for contacting the instructor right away.  Exceptions to the rules on homework/test submission will not be considered unless:  1) students properly notify the instructor well in advance, 2) reasonable justification for the requested exception is deemed acceptable by the instructor, and 3) a solid plan for completion is initiated by the student and accepted by the instructor.

Other dates of interest may be found on the WITC Academic Calendar
