What is SmarterMeasure?

The SmarterMeasure Learning Readiness Indicator is a free, web-based tool assessing the likelihood for your success in an online and/or technology rich learning program. SmarterMeasure indicates the degree to which you possess attributes, skills and knowledge that contribute to online success.

What will be measured?

• Self-motivation
• Time-management skills
• Self-discipline
• Persistence
• Availability of time
• Ability to use a laptop, printer, software, and the Internet
• Typing speed and accuracy

Who should take it?

YOU! Whether you’re planning to take an online course, enrolling in an entirely online program, or just curious about what it takes to be an online student – Smartermeasure is for you. WITC makes Smartermeasure available to everyone for free. Whether you are a first-time user or returning user, please login above.

How long does it take?

It usually takes 20-30 minutes. Give yourself plenty of time so that you can take the assessment without feeling rushed or stressed.

Is it required?

No. Nor is it graded. But it is strongly encouraged. Smartermeasure will not tell you whether you should or should not take online classes. It will tell you what areas you might want to improve or develop prior to beginning an online class.

What if I don't do well?

Upon completion, Smartermeasure will issue your results (hyperlinked to images of the report). If you need to make improvements in any of the areas, the report includes valuable links to guide your development in each area.
