I feel like I'm getting the best education I could right now -- mainly because of the instructors and other staff. I feel respected. The instructors here are awesome -- they're willing to work with me. They have a model of "you will learn" and they follow that. They explain things and answer questions. I've wanted to get into this field [HVAC] for years. When I came over here, I was met with kindness. The president of the college even met with me, and treated me as an equal.
There's a quote I really like, and it really fits so far: One of the great joys of teaching is when a student understands for the first time a subject which is of passionate interest to the teacher.
The WITC Heating, Ventilation, and Air
Conditioning/Refrigeration Program has enriched my life,
expanded my mind, and allowed me to make new life lasting friendships.
Through this program I have gained knowledge and life building skills that
go beyond the mechanical portion of my course of study. Now I am not only
equipped with skilled training but have a better understanding of life and
relationships also. My hat is off to all the staff at WITC, you ALL
have been a GREAT help, THANK YOU.
After working for 20 years out in the welding field, I started the HVAC/R program back in 2001. Coming back to school was all new to me. The associate degree classes taught me a lot of interesting things, not only in HVAC, but also in math, print reading, and electric circuits, just the whole package that comes with it. Now it is time to graduate and it's all coming together; now I am ready to go out, get a job in this field and I'm proud that I did it.
I have been working at a large mid-western
hospital for the last 20 years, with the heating and cooling of the
building being the main responsibility of my job. Over the years, methods
and techniques have changed and I have been able to keep abreast of these
changes due to the learning experience I have enjoyed the WITC HVAC/R
program. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who aspires to
work in this industry.
