Automotive Maintenance Technician Program
The Automotive Maintenance Technician program has received certification by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)
and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Students attending the Automotive Maintenance Technician program take
nation-wide skills attainment tests as well as the Wisconsin state air conditioning
mobile refrigeration test.
NATEF and SkillsUSA have partnered to offer a single National Automotive
Student Skills Standards Assessment (NA3SA) program. These tests, developed by
ASE, are designed to evaluate students who are near the end of their studies in
the Automotive Maintenance Technician program. Once in the program,
students take these tests to assess their knowledge as they complete courses. These tests highlight to potential employees the skills that students have learned while at WITC and enable the students, once they've gained the necessary experience, to prepare for future ASE certification testing.
