Erin Wilmot and Niki Gustafson weren't pursuing a lifelong dream of owning their own business. It wasn't until shortly after they graduated from WITC that they decided the entrepreneurial road was the one they wanted to take. The women met while they were enrolled in WITC's Barber/Cosmetologist Program.
"We wanted our freedom, to be able to do things the way we wanted and to make our own decisions. We should stop talking about this and just do it. We had to prove ourselves, but we've done far better than we expected."
Gustafson and Wilmot put the skills they had honed while at WITC to work. During their training, they had not only mastered the technical skills of cutting, coloring and styling hair, but had also taken courses in salon operations, client services, and applied communications.
"It's been what I had hoped for and much more, it's at a whole new level than what we thought it could be."
