Course examines employment, labor and social issues in the work environment through the laws that govern the employer/union and employer/employee relationships. Topics explored include: unemployment compensation; workers’ compensation; hiring and firing practices; sexual harassment in the workplace; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and the intricacies of federal and Wisconsin equal employment opportunity laws. Students will use in-depth case analyses, oral presentation, and debates.
