With growing inmate populations and stricter institutional mandates, county and state correctional departments need trained and certified employees. This degree will give you the background you need to work in a county correctional facility, state correctional facility, federal correctional facility, youth detention center, treatment facility, or halfway house.

Program-Specific Requirements
As a student in this program, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED
Students seeking certification for working in Wisconsin must:
- Pass an oral interview
- Pass a physical examination
- Complete a criminal history records check; the student cannot be convicted of a federal felony or of any offense which, if committed in Wisconsin, could be punished as a felony unless the student has been granted an absolute and unconditional pardon
