Machine Tool Technician Program

Real Experience

WITC’s two-year Machine Tool Technician program is designed to provide students with the entry-level skills required for employment in a machine shop. During the first semester, students develop skills in print reading and using hand measurement tools. These skills are applied to set up and use hand operated machining equipment.

As the students advance, they improve their blueprint reading skills and work with computer software to describe three-dimensional parts. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to write their own programs and make their own machine setups.
