Nursing Assistant Program

Admission Requirements

Students in this program must:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Complete application/registration process and submit fee
• Successfully complete reading entrance assessment (waiver may apply with acceptable alternative test scores and/or postsecondary degree completion)
• Submit Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check fee
• Have an acceptable Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check
• Attend a mandatory orientation session scheduled 2 weeks prior to the start of class
• Review and sign the Functional Abilities Statement of Understanding

Program-Specific Requirement

Students in this program must:

• Pass a physical exam, have current immunizations, and demonstrate negative status for tuberculosis (Tb)

The Nursing Assistant (NA) program offers the opportunity to work in a healthcare setting as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and is also a prerequisite to the WITC Associate Degree Nursing program. Because our NA program is approved by the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services, our application process has very specific requirements for entry into our program.
