The Nursing Assistant program provides classroom, laboratory instruction, and supervised practice in area nursing homes and hospitals. The program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (dhs.wisconsin.gov), Office of Quality Assurance (dhs.wisconsin.gov/rl_dsl/bqa.htm). After successfully completing this program, you will be eligible to complete the written and skills exams to be placed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry. Exam cost is $115.

Program-Specific Requirements

Students in the program must:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Have a completed Health Form (required to attend first day of class)
• Have an acceptable Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check
• Successfully complete reading entrance assessment
• Review and sign Functional Abilities Statement of Understanding
• Attend a mandatory orientation session scheduled two weeks prior to the start of class
