Clinical Work

Obtaining pre-hospital experience in a field or clinical setting is an excellent opportunity for Paramedic students to learn while developing their skills in a practical application, real-world environment. 

The paramedic students must meet State competency requirements in the following areas to successfully complete the clinical portion of the course:

• Patient Assessment
• IV Insertion
• Basic Airway Management Skills
• Endotracheal Intubation
• Medication Administration
• Field Observer
• Field Team Member
• Field Team Leader

The clinical training experience required is presented in the DOT EMT-Paramedic curriculum and the Minimum Skills Competencies set forth by the Department of Health and Family Services, EMS Section.
