ABSENCE PROCESS
If you are ill and/or are unable to make it to work, please call the WITC Ashland switchboard and notify the attendant, or if it is before 7:30 a.m., please leave a message.  Your information will be forwarded to your supervisor or dean.  If the absence involves canceling classes, Student Services will post a class cancellation notice on your classroom doors.  If you are eligible for sick time pay/personal leave/bereavement, the front desk staff will complete a blue absence form for you and forward it to you for your signature and supervisor approval.  You would then need to enter the absence into the etimesheet system.  See Julie Johanik-Johnson for questions.

ACTIVITY HOURS
The activity hour is scheduled Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for students and staff.  The following is a schedule of the activity for each Thursday of the month:
    1st -   Staff Meeting
    2nd -  Department Meetings
    3rd -  Academic Department Meeting
    4th -  Other
    5th -  Open for any group

ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Each program has an advisory committee that provides input on curriculum-related decisions.

BUILDING HOURS
Building hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday -  Thursday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.  Saturday and Sunday schedules vary.

BUSINESS CARDS AND NAME TAGS
Business cards and name tags are ordered through the Shell Lake location twice a year. Julie Nourse will send out an all-staff email when we are ready to place orders.

COMPUTER WORK REQUESTS
For computer/technical assistance please call the 24/7 Help Desk at Ext. 7300 or 1-800-235-9500. Technical issues that can not be addressed at the level one help desk will be addressed by the appropriate local staff member. Pat McCullough and Paul Edmark are the Ashland Network Technicians.

COPIES
Jennifer Bednarik will gladly make any copies needed.  Jennifer can be reached at extension 3125 for all of your copying needs.  For special assistance with copying, please dial "0" for receptionist.

EMAIL
Email will be set up at the Shell Lake office for all staff/faculty. Call your dean for more information.

EMERGENCY PROCESSES
There are emergency processes followed at each WITC location.  Please make sure you have a copy of the procedures and review them carefully. Please see Kevin Rowe, Maintenance Supervisor, with any questions you may have.

HEALTH SERVICES

INSERVICE/STAFF MEETINGS
All staff meetings are regularly scheduled for the first Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m.

KEYS
Once you begin your employment, Julie Johanik-Johnson - Administrative Specialist/Supervisor - will give you the appropriate keys needed.

MAILBOX
Julie Johanik-Johnson - Administrative Specialist/Supervisor - will have the mailroom assign a mailbox for you once you begin.

MAINTENANCE WORK REQUESTS
Please utilize SchoolDude for work requests for maintenance.   Otherwise, contact Kevin Rowe, Facility Maintenance Supervisor, at extension 3141 for your maintenance needs.

MANAGER ON DUTY
A night manager is available at the Ashland campus until 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and Thursdays until 6:30 p.m. during the school year.  Please contact the receptionist (ext. 3100) for a listing of who is on duty.  During summer hours, the campus has a manager on duty Monday and Wednesday until 6:30 p.m.

OFFICE AREAS
Office areas will be assigned by Julie Johanik-Johnson in order of seniority.

OFFICE SUPPLIES
Office supplies can be obtained in the administration area of the campus.  Please contact Julie Johanik-Johnson, Administrative Specialist/Supervisor, for any specific needs you may have.

PARKING
Parking permits are not required at WITC Ashland.

PHONE
A staff and faculty listing can be found in our shared drive, wpool, admin. or on the web.   For additional assistance with your phone or voicemail, please contact Julie Johanik-Johnson, Administrative Specialist/Supervisor, at ext. 3151.

PROPER ATTIRE
Friday's have been designated as "casual" Friday's.  Please wear appropriate attire. (WITC shirts and jeans are acceptable)

REGISTRATION
Registration is now online.  Individuals having problems online should contact Student Services at extension 3188 if they are unable to access the WITC Ashland webpage to complete the process.

SCHOOL CLOSING
School closings due to inclement weather and/or other reasons are announced on all of the local television stations as well as on local radio.  The Administrative Assistant will also leave an all staff voice mail as school closing or cancellation has been determined.

SUMMER HOURS
The President's Cabinet establishes the dates of summer hours.  Staff will be notified via email each spring.

TEACHING LEARNING CENTER
Teaching Learning Center is located in the Learning Resource Center.

VENDING/FOOD
The Food Stop is open 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.  Food is also available from vending machines which are located in the student lounge.
