"The two-year Construction and Cabinetmaking program allows students seeking an education in the construction field to learn more than just framing or cabinet making. Students will learn furniture making, print reading, drafting, CAD design, CNC, site survey, framing techniques, cabinet making, estimating, and interior and exterior finishes. Many of our students come to WITC planning on just framing up houses after graduation, but after learning all that we offer they choose to become a material estimator or a finish carpenter."
Chris Harder is an instructor at WITC-Rice Lake
As a journeyman carpenter, Harder has worked for contractors in the commercial and residential fields. He also has experience running his own business, both contracting and overseeing his own employees to get the jobs done on time with satisfied customers. This allows Harder to draw from his own experiences to influence the students in a positive way.
In his free time, Harder enjoys spending time with his two children, taking them to their sports practices and games. In the future, he looks forward to taking them hunting, fishing and teaching them about the fun things in life.
