In the next five years, our community is expected to have 40 percent of its population over the age of 60. Jennifer Augustine plans to prepare students for this growing population segment by providing a broader understanding and respect for this aging community. Through knowledge and experience, Augustine will offer insight and guidance of the new subject material by allowing students to build the information into usable and lifelong tools to help them succeed. She will prepare students to embrace new learning in order to broaden their scope and abilities.
The majority of Augustine's nursing career has been working with the senior population on various levels. Whether she was working in public health, home health, long-term care or other settings that provided services for seniors, she strove to enhance services and build programs that will benefit the aging population. With a long history in helping others, it seems natural for Augustine to gravitate toward the teaching profession. She enjoys seeing people succeed in new endeavors through challenging situations that help them grow both personally and professionally.
In her spare time, Augustine enjoys spending time with her husband on their hobby farm and taking care of their many animals. She also enjoys reading, walking with her dogs, cooking and spending time with her family.
