"I understand that as a student the concepts may seem very large and foreign. I love to relate the information to everyday practices and experiences.”

Jennifer Nelson has nearly 14 years of experience in the nursing industry. The majority of her experience was in the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department, which brings a lot of practical experience to WITC’s nursing program. Nelson implements this experience in this classroom with a hands-on, “practical application” philosophy.
Although Nelson is new to teaching in the formal sense, she frequently worked with nursing students throughout her years in the ICU and Emergency Department. She loves seeing the “lightbulb come on,” so to speak.
Nelson is married with three busy kids, ages five, 10 and 12, who are all busy in various sports. She is also in school right now working toward her Doctor of Nursing Practice. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, hiking and just being outside.
