About the seminar: This course is designed for clergy and other faith community leaders. Course will cover the impact and challenges of Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia on faith based communities, including Abrahamic theological; and practical ways church leaders and congregations can be involved. Concepts will include building community, going deeper relationships, and identifying ways to respond.
About the presenters:
- Nancy Abrahamson, Dementia Care Specialist, Aging and Disability Resource Center of St. Croix County will provide professional education on dementia and how to navigate available resources.
- Rev Dr. Dawn Jeffers Ramstad, Pastor, Hudson United Methodist Church, Hudson, Wisconsin is an ordained Methodist elder. She will provide expertise on various approaches from the faith community.
- Chaplain Tom Johnson, Chaplain for Christian Community Home and Services Hudson, Wisconsin will provide professional expertise pertaining to working with residents and families in long term care facilities and memory units.
