Course Description: This 24 hour in-service will provide training in the following topics:
- Day 1: Turning a Traffic Stop into a Criminal Interdiction (4 hour classroom session), Professional Communications in a High Stress Environment (4 hours)
- Day 2: Use of Force Tactics and Decision Making (8 hours)
- Day 3: Interview and Interrogation (4 hours) and Legal Update (4 hours)
Instructors: Tom VandeBerg, Sergeant Paul Winterscheidt, Detective Adam Meyers, Charlie Law, Jeff Arnold, Detective Andrew Vitalis and Attorney Thomas Frost
Students must bring duty belt, handcuffs and key. No live weapons such as firearms, knives, batons, or OC on second day of training. Students should have clothing suitable for physical activity and supportive shoes for the second day of class.
Credit: 24 hours T&S credit
Minimum class size: 8
Class limited to first 25 registered
